Vipin Gaur is a young journalist who is a different identity in Indian journalists, Vipin Gaur stepped in journalism in 2001 when he was studying at school, In 2003, Vipin Gaur has completely come into the field of journalism; Along with that, Vipin did a lot of work in Mumbai Filmy Industry as an Model , Actor , Director and dance choreographer. After father's departure in 2010, Vipin turned back to Delhi and start work with News Paper Association of India. In December 2010, Vipin Gaur was appointed National General Secretary of News Paper Association of India.

Vipin Gaur has organized several programs across the country for the benefit of journalists in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai also in rural and remote areas . Vipin Gaur has done many things in the field of journalism and social service for which Vipin Gaur has received more than 70 national and international awards in India also in Abroad . NAI Karnataka State Body Meeting in Bangalore
 
Bangalore -: Caution to the members to pay attention! Time to get strengthened! Stage getting prepared for the upcoming anniversary function! Yes, your Newspaper Association of India (NAI) has fabulously completed its 20 years with the strength of its members and now has stepped into the 21st year. On this occasion, the institution is going to hold its anniversary function in the month of November 2013 in Karnataka in the capital city Bangalore. Consequently, the members of Karnataka state committee of newspaper association of India (NAI) held meet at KC Palace club, after forming its new executive very recently. The members discussed and considered the primary needs of the journalist members to get the membership through a proper channel.

The NAI, now in its 21st years of existence, being an organization spanning the length and breadth of India. (NAI) is an Association founded in the year 1993 by Late Dr. M R Gaur of New Delhi predominantly for small and medium Newspapers in the country. The Newspaper Association of India is registered in the year 1993 by the Government of India under SR Act XXI of 1860 and is headquartered in New Delhi. The State offices have so far been established in Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh and Pondicherry. Currently there are close to 7000 members spread across the length and breath of the country. It members are from all sections of the press and media, regional & national, vernacular & English and includes Daily, Weekly’s, Bi Weekly’s Fortnightly’s, Monthly’s and Online Digests.

However, the members also felt a need for sending all the statements or other related issues only through the committee. The increasing of frequent meets was also accepted. Mr. Vipin Gaur, the general secretary of the organization presided over the session. The proposals were made to organize Seminars and awareness to the media student’s cultural activities and to arrange workshops for helping the members. Frequent meets were planned to be held to take the other works into action. New Membership and Renewal will accept by state committee. Two felicitated for pledging body donation
 
JAIPUR: Newspapers Association of India Jaipur Unit Honors Program for the body donors Three persons pledged to donate bodies for research work at the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) medical college on Friday.

All the medical college is facing shortage of cadavers for research work and at present there are minimum bodies but it needs more so that research work could be conducted properly.

Eighty-five-year-old Sr Journalist Ram Kishan Sharma and 86-year-old Vimal Kumar Choudhary filled body donation forms, which were collected by health minister A A Khan, at a function organized by the Newspaper Association of India (NAI), Jaipur unit, in Shastri Nagar.

Earlier, only two persons decided to take pledge to donate their body but encouraged by their decision, one more person also decided to donate his body.

"After death, the soul departs and the body becomes unimportant. But, the body can be used for research work in the medical field and could save the life of many people," Sharma said after signing the form.

On the occasion, NAI officials said the health minister should make arrangements for collection of pledge forms from homes of people who decided to donate their bodies. NAI National general Secretary Vipin Gaur said, "Body donation is a noble decision. It doesn't look good that a person has to stand in queues in hospital to fill forms for donation of his body. We demanded from the minister that a team should be constituted which will go to the houses of people who want to donate their bodies to collect the forms in a dignified way and to honour them. The minister accepted our demand." and that great work start by Bhanwar singh ranawat who is Vice President of NAI Rajasthan State

SMS medical college anatomy department head Dr Sangeeta Chouhan said, "People are now aware about the usefulness of donating of bodies. This year, we have received forms from 11 people who have decided to donate the bodies."

His Execellency the Governor of Tamilnadu, Dr. K Rosaiah participated in the Awards Ceremony jointly organised by the Alpha Group and NAI, New Delhi and delivered the keynote address. The Governor inaugurated the NAI, Tamilnadu Chapter and spoke on the occasion about the role the newspapers play in upholding the democratic credentials of this country. He also gave away Lifetime Achievement Awards and Promising Citizen of India Awards for various categories. The Promising Citizen of India Awars for Journalism was awarded to Shri. Vipin Gaur, National General Secretary of the NAI and Shri PCR Suresh, President of the TN State Committee was awarded the Promising Citizen of India Award in the Corporate Social Responsibility Category. Others prominent awardees were Padma Vibhusan Shri K Parasuran Senior, Padma Bhusan Shri N Vittal, Smt Jayanthi, IAS, Human Rights Commission, Film Director Vishnu Varadhan, R P Sathyanarayanan, MD Puthiya Thalamurai, Dr K A Abraham, Cardiologist and eight others in various categories. Dr Grace George of the Alpha Group welcomed the gathering, Thiru Pradeep Phillip, Inspector General of Police delivered the felicitation address Buchi babu NAI South zone Secretary , Shreedhar Murthy Exe Secretary Karnataka , Augastin baskar Vice president TN, kunnun Ramesh Secretary TN , was Present at Inauguration of NAI TN Unit and Thiru PCR Suresh, Senior Vice President of Standard Chartered Scope International proposed the vote of thanks.
 
 

National Meet on Small and Medium Newspapers
 
Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that the ministry has given proposals to the parliament for amending the Press and Registration of Books Act, 1867. There are around 80,000 newspapers and periodicals published in India out of which the majority of readership is of small and medium newspapers. The Ministry is actively involved in assisting and promoting small and medium newspapers as they speak the language of the locals he stated in the National Meet on Small and Medium Newspapers, here in the PHD Chamber.

The Registrar of Newspapers for India receives the annual statement only from 13,500 newspapers. Only 5600 regional newspapers are paneled with the Directorate of advertising and visual publicity and are facing problem of capturing the advertisement he added.

Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Ganai also said India literacy rate is increasing and demand of newspapers is increasing too in comparison to the western world.

Lt Gen K.M Seth, Former Governor of Chhattisgarh said majority of Indian population does not read the national newspapers and only 30% of Indian population reads the national newspapers. The ministry has to make arrangements for making regional newspapers as par with the regional newspapers.

The NAI South Zone meeting that was held on 26.02.2012 in Bangalore
 
26/2/2012- bangalore - We feel priveleged to announce that the NAI South Zone meeting that was held on 26.02.2012 in Bangalore was a grand success.

Amongst the many issues that were discussed at the meeting, the safety of journalists was at the core. There was a long discussion about the myriad problems that small and medium newspapers face.

Other issues that were discussed include DAVP, RNI, journalists from government, facilities & Efforts to strengthen the State Committee.

We organized a workshop on rural development, grassroot journalism which was attended by several members.

Our mode of action in states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka was one of the main topics of discussion.

The General Secretary of NAI, Mr. Vipin Gaur presided over the meeting with valuable inputs from members of the south zone like Mr. Buchi Babu, Mr. Sridhar Reddy, MS Deepa, Mr. Sridhar Murthy, Tamil Nadu General Secretary Mr. Charles,Kerala Adyaksh Mr. Subhaarn Kumar and others.

Members from all states attended the meeting and vowed to accelerate their efforts to improve the working of NAI in their respective states.

Newspapers Association of India, National Executive Meets to discuss NAI National Awards 2011 and other issues raised by its Members
 
The National Executive Meetingof the Newspaper Association of India (NAI) was held on the 4th of November 2011 at New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by the National President of NAI, ShriSuryabhan Singh Rajput and Co-Chaired by the National General Secretary, ShriVipin Gaur. Resolutions and decisions were passed by the National Executive Committee on the following
  1. NAI National Awards 2011 : After much deliberation the date was unanimously fixed for the 26th of December 2011 immediately after the winter session of the Parliament. Budgets and sponsorship for the program was discussed. It was also agreed to request each state committee to raise INR 35,000.00 towards the awards ceremony expenses. This is expected to draw close to 200 members from across all states in which NAI is present. The total number of awards was suggested to be capped at 26 and the General Secretary was asked to share the categories with the committee soonest. It was also suggested that a lesser percentage of the categories must be accorded to electronic media and a major percentage must focus on NAI member community. It is expected from the state committee to scrutinize and send outstanding nominations to the central committee for the finalization of awards.

  2. Issues and Challenges : Issues faced by small and medium newspapers and reporters – It was decided by the committee to address various issues and problems faced by NAI members. As a first step NAI will work towards accreditation and then take up with the Government on various privileges and benefits that needs to be extended to members. Sanjay Rai, NAI spokesperson dwelt in length on the various issues faced by members including toll fees, membership fees, discounts at key domestic outlets, adequacy of salaries, the urban-rural discrimination etc.

  3. Social Responsibility Agenda : The efforts of the General Secretary, Mr. Vipin Gaur in membership drive in the southern states were well appreciated. It was noted that NAI should focus on developing journalism in rural areas by actively pursuing and participating in NAI social responsibility initiatives. Villages, rural colleges and Schools will be of primary focus in organizing such events to encourage talented writers to join the fraternity. Code of conduct and General Guidelines around the same would be circulated soonest by the General Secretary before the launch of these initiatives.

  4. NAI Membership Drive : Committee members were urged to develop and establish state and district level committees of NAI within the next six months. This will facilitate decentralization of the implementation of various objects of the NAI.
The meeting concluded with vote of thanks and introduction of the newly inducted members and as stated earlier the next immediate agenda and focus will be on successfully conducting the NAI Awards 2011 on December 26, 2011.

Media persons in Mumbai on Saturday 11 June took out a procession to condemn the brutal killing of senior journalist Jyotirmoy Dey and demanded that the CBI probe into the incident.

The journalists, belonging to both print and electronic media organizations and associations, gathered at Patrakar Sangh in south Mumbai and marched towards Mantralaya.

While assuring the agitating scribes at Mantralaya, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said “The state government is sensitive to feelings of journalists and is doing whatever it can to bring the assailants to Justice ,” and adding he was personally monitoring the investigations.

Senior journalist Jyotendra Dey was shot dead in suburban Powai on Saturday by unidentified assailants.



The newsmen, while demanding a CBI enquiry into the killing, also sought the resignation of Home Minister R.R. Patil and Mumbai police commissioner Arup Patnaik.

Organizations, including the Press Club, Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh, Mantralaya Ani Vidhimandal Vartahar Sangh, Mumbai Crime Reporters’ Association and TV Journalists’ Association, participated in the protest in Mumbai and Newspapers Association of India attended demonstrations in New Delhi which consisted of a candlelight march and vigil held at New Delhi India gate.

News Papers Association of India New Delhi submitted a letter of protest to the home ministry seeking security for media journalists across India.
