Anna is being recognized as an ideal person for the Indian people. He started the movement on 5th April, 2011 at Jantar Mantar, Delhi for Jan Lokpal Bill. The movement has taken a new shape. Thousands of people participated in the movement to support him. The Indian Government has recognized his influence and accepted his demands.

Jan Lokpal Bill is an anti-corruption bill. It is believed that the bill will be able to diminish corruption from India. The Union Cabinet approved the Lokpal Bill with some changes on 28th July, 2011. The bill was quite different from the Bill of Anna Hazare.

After that Anna Hazare announced to go on a hunger strike from August 16, 2011. Indian people celebrate August 15 as Indian Independence Day. Anna Hazare asked Indian people to participate in the second movement of Indian Independence.


Anna Hazare had decided to start his hunger strike from JP Park near ITO, Delhi. But in the early morning on August 16, Anna Hazare is arrested by Delhi cops from his residence. He is sent to Chhatrasal Stadium near Delhi University North Campus.

Students of DU participated in the political demonstration. Thousands of people get ready to go in jail. The whole country participated in the movement against the arrest warrant of Anna Hazare. Students, home guards, advocates and senior citizens became the most important part of the movement.


Delhi cops send Anna Hazare at Rajauri Garden in afternoon. In the evening, Anna Hazare is sent to Tihar Jail. But seeing the support and agitation for Anna Hazare, Indian government decides to release him from the Jail night at 9:30. But Anna Hazare didn’t get ready to leave the campus of Jail. Thousands of people gathered to the Tihar Jail to support Anna.

Both houses of Parliament are adjourned on August 16. The Prime Minister gave a statement against Anna Hazare on August 17 in Lok Sabha. It was much debatable statement. People of India join hands with Anna Hazare against anti-corruptions for Jan Lokpal Bill.

Team of Anna Hazare has announced to move towards JP Park, Delhi from Tihar Jail to continue the political agitation. Indian government is not able to solve the problem. People are seen against the government’s Lokpal Bill. They are expressing their support participating in the political demonstration against anti-corruptions. Anna is supported at international platform also. People of Japan and Washington have come forward to support his movement.
