Vipin Gaur Visted NIMS University as University Guest

The Department of journalism and mass communication, NIMS University has organised a symposium on journalism and present politics on Wednesday. Addressing the students, chief guest of the program, Dr.Vipin Gaur, Editor in chief of NAI, who set up a different identity of his own through independent media,and encouraged independent journalists to contribute towards the society.

In his address he said that media is the fourth pillar of the democracy and its the duty of every upcoming journalist to protect and secure its identity. Many students posed questions related to journalism which has been redressed by Gaur based on his experience. The journalism is not merely a career but a social service, he said.

The journos should be voice of the underprivileged and fight for their rights. A successful journalist is who can question and fight against corruption in the society. Those who have zeal and fire for the social service can chose this process, he added.

Due to the advent of TV and internet journalism has become easy otherwise earlier reporting was a real challenge. Prof. of journalism and mass communication, Prof.Dr. Sachin Batra also spoke on the occasion the pen has such a power that it can defeat corruption.

However the challenge is that those who chose to fight corruption should be upright and become voice of the truth and should not have any obligation. Head of the department Dr. Sarika Takhar and Assistant professor Vinod soni proposed vote of thanks.

Chairman of the University Prof. Dr. Balveer S. Tomar felicitated Dr. Gaur with traditional head gear of Rajasthan and a shawl. The NAI is signing an MOU with the university to organised many programs related to journalism.
